Brandon Cornett, a native of Houston, Texas, is currently the Assistant Orchestra Director at Westbrook Intermediate School in CCISD. Westbrook Intermediate Chamber Orchestra was named TMEA Middle School String Honor Orchestra for 2015 and performed at the 2016 Clinic/Convention in San Antonio. Along with teaching public school, Mr. Cornett holds a private teaching studio in the Clear Lake area and performs regularly with the Clear Lake Symphony. In 2014 Mr. Cornett founded the Clear Lake Chamber Ensemble, a group of local music teachers who come together each season to perform free chamber music concerts. Mr. Cornett received his Master of Music in Cello Performance in 2013 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance as a student of Carter Enyeart. While there, he studied chamber music with Carter Enyeart and Benny Kim as a member of the Graduate Fellowship String Quartet. His quartet had the opportunity to perform for groups and individuals such as eighth blackbird, the Pro Arte and Jasper String Quartets, as well as Michael Stern. His performing career has taken him to summer programs such as the Killington Music Festival, Marrowstone, and the Eastern Music Festival, where he performed in masterclasses for Lynn Harrell and Timothy Eddy. He received his Bachelor of Music in Music Education in 2011 from Sam Houston State University where he studied with Daniel Saenz and was conductor of the Huntsville Youth Orchestra.
